Galaxy Backbone, Microsoft Nigeria Collaborate to provide Nigerian Youth Job

Galaxy Backbone plc and Microsoft Nigeria have collaborated to provide job for the youths in Nigeria through the Employable Skills Development Program (ESDP) Of the Government Wide Messaging and Collaboration(GWMC) project based on the Microsoft; the devices and services giant.

Galaxy Backbone is set to enhance modernisation in Government and of course reducing the rate of unemployment in the Country. I think is a good development by the agency. The agency which has been set up for the purpose of taking the responsibility of providing a common Information and Communications Technology to the Federal Government Agencies Department and Ministries.

The program will run till January 30th 2014 whereas Microsoft targeting 75% placement of the interns with leading companies at the end the exercise.Through this platform Microsoft Nigeria is set to distribute over 500 windows phones in support of the program. Integral Assets Limited will train these interns on behalf of Microsoft responsible for the distribution of these gadgets.

There will be an intensive up to date training of the interns in a 10 weeks training program covering MS Excel, powerpoint, word, outlook, report writing,Interpersonal Effectiveness, Windows Phone 8, Customer Service, Employment and Interviewing Skills.

I think this is a welcomed development by Microsoft to help Nigerians that will have to sweat themselves out looking for unavailable employment opportunities out there. This will make them to provide for themselves and family members and the remaining onces among them can be entrepreneurs in the future.
